2008 Christmas on the River

DAY PARADE WORKSHOP

The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce will host a second Christmas on
the River Day Parade Workshop on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The workshop
will be held from 9am until 4pm at the COTR Warehouse located behind
the old police station in Demopolis (corner of Walnut and Fulton).  There is no charge to attend this event and lunch will be provided to all participants. The COTR Day Parade Workshop will teach newcomers and seasoned volunteers how to build new floats and repair existing ones. Demonstrations will be given on various techniques for designing, creating, painting and paper maché.

The Chamber encourages area businesses to send groups of workers so
that they may learn these techniques to build their own floats for the 2008 parade, which will once again include float competitions. First and second place prizes will be awarded in several categories, including business, private and costume.
