Policies and Missions Statement
City of
The City of Demopolis Parks and Recreation Department
operates all of its parks and facilities for family fun, health, and
recreation. We promote the building of sound
minds and bodies for the young and old through exercise, recreation, and use of
these facilities. Any activity that is
contrary or offensive to this family and health oriented theme is prohibited.
All of the Parks and Recreation facilities are open to the
public without regards to race, religion, gender, age, or those physical
challenged. Most are open during
daylight hours on a first come first serve basis at no charge.
Any use that may require exclusive access, lighting, or
special equipment for a facility must be scheduled and approved through the
PARD office at 289-2891, Mon.- Fri. 8:00am to 3:00pm, and may require a fee.
All league use is scheduled through the PARD office with
seasonal preference given to league play.
The PARD is owned and operated by city tax dollars, and
local use will be given consideration over outside use.
The Parks and Recreation Board does have the right to
refuse use of any of its facilities if it feels that the facility will be damaged
beyond normal repair, if a group has violated policies in the past, or if it
feels it is not in the best interest of the city to do so.
Guidelines for specific facilities are available at the
PARD office located at the Demopolis Sports-Plex.
