I once was lost one summer night,
Wondering down life's solemn road.
The road was overwhelmed with darkness,
And I was gasping for light.
Down the road there were many travelers;
None knew the way out.
Out of nowhere a man appeared;
He was glowing with light.
He said He was the way out,
But no one would listen.
He had twelve followers,
Each dressed in white,
But none as white as He.
He called himself The Son
of God, the Savior of all men.
As I came closer I saw men
laughing and mocking Him,
Some ran away.
He promised a better place for
all who followed Him,
But still, no one listened.
I approached Him and was
blinded by light.
"Mister save me" I cried,
trying to be heard over
the laughing of the men.
I crawled on the ground searching
for His cloak so I could touch it.
There it was; I had found it.
My eyes were opened immediately.
I stood before the towering man,
Looking at the darkness behind me.
I was in the light.
